About Us

• A grassroots group of early childhood educators and parents founded the Child Development Center in 1975.

• Today the center operates as a private, nonprofit 501(c)3 under the management of a volunteer board of parents and professionals. Wyoming Department of Health, Behavioral Health Division provides 90 percent of the CDC’s funding, based on a per child model The grant requires a 3 percent match from local grants and individual donors.

• The CDC follows the same rules and regulations as public schools under federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act legislation and is monitored by the Wyoming Developmental Disabilities Division and Department of Education.

CDC has adopted the Pyramid Model for promoting Social Emotional Development. This model as a framework for all our programs and in our preschool.  We share this model with others in our community including parents, preschools, and child care providers.  It's based on the best research and practices in early childhood education and mental health.
